Originally dubbed the U.S. National Championship when it first began in 1881, tennis’s rechristened U.S. Open moved to Flushing Meadows’ USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens in 1978, making this year the 50th anniversary of New York’s Grand Slam. To celebrate, is offering a special range for Serena Williams to rock on the hardcourt at this year’s tournament — and who better to design the range than the man-of-the-moment ?

Echoing the aesthetic of Abloh and Nike’s celebrated , the new drop includes updated renditions of the and mid-top Blazer. The first is dipped in soft pink, the second is awash with grey, and both wear black Swooshes and a purple/pink gradient along the midsole. An Abloh-designed NikeCourt Flare 2 PE also joins the collection — complete with a shimmering silver heel and splashes of Volt — while bold 'Daytime’ and 'Nighttime’ dresses round out the ‘Queen’ range.

‘With Serena, we have one of our generation's most powerful, inspiring athletes as the muse,’ says Abloh of the collection. ‘I was trying to embody her spirit and bring something compelling and fresh to tennis.’

Stay tuned for release info, and look for the U.S. Open to be served up from August 27 to September 9.
