Fact: Nike's Zoom VaporFly 4% is Fast – Very Fast

The University of Colorado a study extolling the performance-enhancing properties of Nike’s  (a study funded by none other than Nike, make of that what you will). But, as further proof of the shoe’s speed-enhancing capabilities, Nike have laid out some impressive stats regarding the shoe’s achievements in this year’s top marathons. There’s no denying it’s outperformed all others. Of a possible 36 podium finishes, the VaporFly 4% has stepped up 19 times, even the most cynical would struggle to argue with that.

The cutting-edge design, however, is not without its critics. Upon the shoe's release, about the legality of it midsole's carbon fibre spring plate. It’s that addition, along with the lightweight construction and engineered midsole foam, that allow a runner’s impact energy to be transferred into forward momentum.

The Nike Zoom VaporFly will be available to the public of North America and Europe throughout December.
