Known as the Instapump Fury BOOST for obvious reasons, this historic hybrid swaps Reebok’s Hexalite cushioning for adidas BOOST, opening a wild new chapter in the history of Steven Smith’s futuristic design.
Dubbed the 'Prototype', this mysterious sample showed up at SF HQ giving up a few clues. The colourway is a remake of Smith’s original Fury prototype. Reebok and adidas logos spell out the unexpected symbiosis on the elastic strap, while a ‘Pump x BOOST’ heel embroidery makes things clear from behind. A surreptitious ‘CONFIDENTIAL’ tag is hidden behind the tongue, with 1989, 2013 and 2019 listed in honour of pivotal years in the evolution of both shoes.
Releasing in five different colourways across three drops, the Instapump Fury BOOST will debut via the ‘Prototype', with a limited Asia-Pacific drop on October 11, followed by a global release on October 15.
Next up, the ‘OG Meets OG’ pack celebrates the original colourways of the Instapump Fury and UltraBOOST. The unmistakable Citron Yellow/Crimson combo hits one pair, while black and blue makes up the other. You’ll be able to cop these across the Asia-Pacific region on October 25, before a wider release on November 22. And, last but not least, the ‘Black & White’ pack rounds out the rollout, delivering minimalist monochrome schemes to the mix on November 11 in the Asia-Pacific, and the rest of the world on December 6.
