UPDATE: A small number of these Havens and Iniki Runners dropped recently through the shoes' collaborators, but now the release has opened to new retailers. The second drop comes on July 8, and it's not going to be easy to come by (especially not the Inikis) so be sure to visit stores like Overkill and check out with the quickness.
UPDATE: We never doubted the upcoming END x Bodega x adidas Consortium styles would look fresh on foot, but just to confirm we're taking a good look at both the Haven and Iniki Runner in action. The colourways are on point and the materials look second to none. We'll be hanging out to get our hands on both when they drop on July 8.
Drawing creativity from both sides of the Atlantic, END and Bodega are the latest retailers to take part in the adidas Consortium Exchange. The 2017 program – which unites some of the world's most influential retailers and tasks them with producing a two-shoe pack under a defined concept – has birthed some stunning Stripes so far, and this latest union is no exception.
Reflecting on adidas' past with contemporary culture in mind, the transatlantic duo have tackled a couple of streamlined silhouettes that share style cues, but have four decades of innovation between them. A creamy soft suede rendition of the Haven – a classic runner from the 70s –represents the running tech of yesteryear, while a patchwork denim Iniki Runner adds some modern BOOST tech and sock-fit comfort into the mix.
Both design draw influence from Boro denim and the Japanese Sashiko stitching method that was traditionally used to repair torn jeans, and both are finished off with classic gum outsoles.
The END x Bodega x adidas Consortium Exchange will release on July 1, exclusively through END. and Bodega. A global release will follow on July 8 through select adidas Consortium stockists worldwide.
