UPDATE: Nike’s Sock Dart has been a popular silhouette thanks to its simple, laceless design. So it’s rather curious that the Sock Dart 2 might forgo the traditional sock and strap build strap in favour of a laced-up tongue design. The mystery deepens over at Sports Direct, which have the shoe listed for pre-order as the Nike Arrowz Jn73 in kids sizes only. They’re releasing on April 17, we’ll keep you posted with further info as it comes to light.
Reports from Europe are positing that Nike have updated the Sock Dart. Labelled the ‘Sock Dart 2’, the shoe has much of the same tooling of the early 2000s runner – the midsole, heel, cage and toe box are all strikingly similar – but it has to be said that this new sneaker has laces, and therefore is hard to call a sock.
A few Nike lines have managed to pull off a numbered update, but for most it’s been hard to improve on the original. As to whether this Sock Dart goes down the route of Air Max or Air Force is yet to be seen, but with such tenured designs at the forefront we wouldn’t be surprised if this one finds itself in regular rotation.
Nike haven’t announced anything regarding the Sock Dart 2, but trust we’ll let you know when they do.
