The Chuck Taylor All Star II isn't the only sneaker to receive a Shield Canvas overhaul. The durable water repellent treatment has also been applied to a selection of other traditionally canvas silhouettes in the Converse family. The One Star, Jack Purcell Signature, Chuck Taylor All Star Selene and the big poppa – the OG Chuck Taylor All Star – have all been strengthened with weather-resistant properties to produce some Cons ready to rock. Rain or shine.
Like the Chuck II Shield Canvas, the OG All Star features a Shield Canvas upper and gusseted tongue, as well as the removal of its signature medial eyelets (aka great big open holes for water to enter through). The One Star also features these developments, along with the addition of traction rubber to the outsole for added wet-weather grip.
The women's All Star Selene features a waterproof neoprene inner boot encased within a Shield Canvas upper for the ultimate in weather resistance. A Nike Lunarlon sock liner is included for extra comfort and reflective hits have been added for lowlight visibility.
The Jack Purcell Signature features a Shield Canvas upper with a mesh inner lining for extra breathability and temperature regulation. A gusseted tongue keeps the water out, while reflective laces and a tri-colour reflective heel-stay catch all surrounding light.
The entire Converse Counter Climate Shield Canvas Collection is available right now through the Converse Melbourne Central Flagship store, Converse online and selected retailers around the globe.
