Concepts x Vans Colab Draws From New York's Seedy Underbelly

Date: April 14 2018

By: Marfell

Concepts’ latest hard-hitting colab is a Vans Old Skool dedicated to the insalubrious New York of the 1970s. Named ‘Forty Deuce’ for the home of Times Square (that is, 42nd Street), the sneaker is built with bleached denim and cracked leather.

The thematic connection between colourway and Times Square isn’t immediately apparent, but we’re guessing the leather imitates cracked pavement and the bleach spots are redolent of the gum baked on to it. Like a Rorschach inkblot, you might see something completely different. But you’ll be able to grab them from Concepts on April 13 regardless.
