After decades at loggerheads, France and Germany are finally settling their differences and celebrating European unity — in shoe form.

Okay, we might be over 50 years late with that analogy, but the collaborative from French fashion house Études and the German takes more than a pinch of inspiration from the European Union’s flag. The Primeknit upper, denuded of its TPU cage, is washed in cobalt and wears a ring of white embroidered stars across the toes. Rounding out the simple yet stylish make-up is a blacked-out BOOST sole and similarly hued heel cap.
