ASICS GEL-Mai Receives a 2018 Overhaul
The resurrection of the was . The obscure side-laced sneaker was – and still is – one of the most unique designs in ' catalogue. The model was treated to a bounty of colabs and releases last year, and fortunately looks like it'll remain a staple of the brand's lineup.
Following the introduction of the , ASICS have treated the model to its biggest makeover yet in the form of the GEL-Mai RB. The RB is a complete ground-up overhaul of the original Mai. Every element of the shoe has been redesigned with modern minimalist styling that draws on OG. The multi-panel mesh and microsuede construction has been replaced with overlapping suede inspired by kimono design. A series of slits through the lateral side and toecap provide sufficient ventilation. The freshly tooled sole unit features fuzeGEL for maximum comfort.
