Under Armour have extended their foray in 3D printing technology with a new, super-technical basketball model. Named the ArchiTech Futurist, this new offering follows in the footsteps of UA’s first 3D printed sneaker, but with more of a focus on the midsole. Responsive cushioning is woven together like an organic-looking lattice provides support across the foot bed, while the upper is made from Speedform – a material that moulds to your foot. While the original ArchiTech was almost completely 3D printed, the restrictions of such an endeavour limited the release to only 96 pairs. The Futurist update however will be widely available, you’ll just have to cough up a couple more dollars than usual to own it.
The Under Armour Architech Futurist will be available on March 30 from Under Armour.
