Are BAPE and Damian Lillard Releasing a Dame 4 Colab?
When images of this colab surfaced yesterday afternoon on the IG of famed leaker , we at Sneaker Freaker (along with many in the sneaker community) weren't sure what to think. Was this an elaborate hoax? An exercise in clickbape? Or could this highly unlikely collaboration be the real thing?!
Now, it looks like the shark teeth will indeed be tearing up Rip City. Rumour has it that this x model is actually legit. Apparently, two colourways – green and black camo – are set to release in conjunction with the NBA's All Star weekend in February 2018.
Two blurry images of sample design files have made their way on the wild web (they look as though they may have been quickly snapped on the phone of a rogue adidas employee while the boss was looking the other way).
As far as we can tell, BAPE's signature shark teeth will bite into the previously monochrome midsole, and the iconic shark eyes will peep out on the toe. The Japanese brand's famous camo pattern will stretch across the mesh upper, with 'WGM' printed on the sock bootie. Basically, it's a BAPE shark hoodie for your feet (and the snug fit of the Dame 4 will only enhance that feeling).
If true, this colab is a smart move for the Blazers' . The Portland point guard's previous attempts to hype up the Dame 4 by fell on deaf ears. But, the internet is already going wild for Dame D.O.L.L.A's rendezvous with the Bathing Ape. And in a weekend typically marked by some pretty boring, defence-free games and the schadenfreude of missed shots in the dunk contest, this release would certainly be the highlight of the All Star celebrations.
