Tokyo-based designer Alexander Lee Chang has linked up with Vans for a wild take on the classic Sk8-Hi. The colab sees a Boa system — often used in snowboarding boots — replace the traditional lacing and the result is one of the most unique takes on the silhouette that we’ve seen.
Rocking a familiar black upper, a bold white side straight and midsole come through with a bang, while exposed stitching adds further pops of contrast. The Boa mechanism allows the wearer to tighten the Sk8-Hi with the twist of a dial — we don’t recommend strapping into your bindings with ‘em tho!
Retailing at ¥22,680 JPY (approximately $210 USD), the Alexander Lee Chang x Vans ‘Boa Top’ is available now for pre-order at Shelter, with units due in November.
