UPDATE: Originally thought to be a modern take on the famous 'Royal Blue' AJ1s, Jordan Brand have revealed this AJXXXI to be an ode to Spurs player Kawhi Leonard. Named the 'Flight Guy' (a variation on 'Jumpman') the shoe dedicated to the new generation of Jordan athletes like Leonard, and their ability to come out the blue with phenomenal performances.
The Air Jordan XXXI has been given the 'Royal' treatment, poaching yet another OG colourway from the Air Jordan 1 archives. A black to blue gradient adorns the Flyknit upper, transitioning to synthetic leather at the heel. A translucent blue outsole and crisp white midsole add a solid foundation. While a special logo graphic has been added behind the tongue in reference to the famous Jordan 'Runway' ad from the mid-80s. The AJXXXI 'Royal' adds to the growing list of OG AJ1-inspired colourways to hit the latest Jordan flagship – joining the 'Bulls', 'Chicago' and 'Banned' make-ups before it.
The Air Jordan XXXI 'Royal' is scheduled for release on April 1 through Nike.com and select Jordan Brand stockists worldwide.
