Jordan Brand Reveal Carmelo Anthony’s rag & bone Colab

’s   isn’t merely a reimagined release for Carmelo Anthony. Instead, the kicks are part of a full-on collaborative collection alongside New York’s rag & bone.

Officially revealed today, the upcoming Air Jordan XX Flyknit is the highlight of a co-branded range inspired by the shared love Melo and rag & bone co-founder/CEO Marcus Wainwright have for fashion. Anthony and Wainwright first met in NYC a decade ago, and Melo has even starred in a number of rag & bone campaigns, making the new collection just the latest endeavour in their partnership. Ultimately, Melo and Wainwright chose the XX as their canvas in order to take the colab in a different direction than the usual co-branded Jordan retros out there.

‘I think that it was a bit ahead of its time, but the shoe was always cool,’ says Anthony of the Air Jordan XX. ‘This is a shoe I liked when I saw it, but it didn’t get its fair moment. I wanted to bring it back, rework it and re-introduce it to the market.’

‘I wanted to take something that was essentially iconic, but make it current, maintain the originality of it,’ adds Wainwright.

The kicks, along with their corresponding apparel, will drop at select Jordan retailers later this September.
