Update: Releasing this Saturday, June 14th. Crispy new pics via Nike.
The Air Jordan 6 will always hold a special place in the hearts of Jordanheads and MJ himself because it's the shoe he was wearing when he won his first championship. That was the start of an eight year period in which he won six rings with the Bulls, six Finals MVPs, four league MVPs and six scoring titles, as well as making six All-Star game appearances and earning two All-Star game MVPs. Oh, and he didn't play for a year and a half in that time too. It was amazing stuff. Most people know Jordan likes to celebrate in style when he wins too, and a toke on a cigar is one of his favourite boss moves, so that's the back story behind this ballin' AJ6. That explains the lux brown leather upper, while lashings of gold are an obvious ode to the shiny Larry O'Brien trophy he would kiss and hug many times, and grabs of burgundy pile on the aristocratic feels. A Jumpman emblem on the heel is inscribed with '1991 to 1998', shouting out the reign of absolute B-Ball dominance by Jordan, making this a pretty important feet piece for all sorts of MJ memorabilia collectors out there. Check out that straight crazy championship ring lace lock! Word is this is due out in the coming months, the US summer, we'll bring you firm word when we've got it.
