UPDATE: This one will be a must-have for Jumpman fans. The premium suede detailing is one thing, but douse it in a flaming red and you've got a sneaker as hot as Michael Jordan's hands when he dropped 69 points on the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1990. If you can handle the heat, be sure to hit up Overkill when they drop on July 1.
UPDATE: This year is passing way too fast! We're nearly halfway through, which means the release of these crimson Jays is just around the corner. The Air Jordan 5 'Red Suede' will be dropping July 1 through NDC and select stockists. In the meantime, check out this fresh set of images.
In 2009, Jordan Brand dropped a duo of Air Jordan 5s in a specially boxed two pack, released under the name 'Raging Bull'. One make-up featured all-black 3M, while the other featured a blood red suede upper. Of the two, the latter has remained the more desirable of the duo, having crept its way into four-figure territory. While a retro of this special edition release is unlikely, Jordan Brand are bringing us the next best thing with this 'Red Suede' AJ5.
Heavier on the crimson colouring this time around, this new colourway features a red midsole, netting and TPU accents. It's not identical, but it will cost you only a fraction of the Raging Bulls resale price. One word of warning, if the suede on these is anything like 2009's release, watch out for bleed!
The Air Jordan 5 'Red Suede' will be available on July 1 through NDC and select Jordan Brand stockists.
