UPDATE: Just a quick reminder for you, fam. The worldwide release for these decadent Js is this Saturday, April 9th. Pile that scrilla and be ready to cop when these hit selected Jordan Brand, including  Sneaker Politics. Miss out and you're gonna regret it – mark our words!

UPDATE: We've finally secured a release date for this limited J, it's Saturday April 9!

As brands begin to find ways to differ themselves during this tonal era of sneakers that limits the colour palettes used, there has been a bigger focus on quality craftsmanship, and also an emphasis on using interesting materials to stand out from the rest of the monotoned crowd. The Jordan Brand 'Pinnacle' collection is a great example on how to execute this approach properly, but until now the ultra premium releases have been reserved for the Air Jordan 1 silhouette.

After a number of leaked images, we finally get a decent look at the first Pinnacle release via SN, and from what we can see, its going to be an early contender for the best Jordan release of 2016. The croc-embossed tumbled leather looks absolutely stunning — especially across the heel section where it replaces the plastic heel pull with a studded panel that matches the hardware that replaces the plastic eyelets. The netting on the side panel is replaced by ponyhair panels that pairs with the tongue, and by eliminating all the plastic components on the original AJ4 design the team at Jordan Brand have created a beautiful variation of a fan favourite we'd never expect to see. The result looks great from these images, but we can't wait to see a pair in person to really experience the quality of the materials used.

If you're drooling over these photos, expect to pony up if you want to get these on your feet. There's no release date or price announced yet, but there's no doubt these will be almost-impossible to get ahold of even if you can afford them judging from last year's Pinnacle releases.

We'll keep you posted as more details surface!
