Here's a release for the true OG Jordan heads. Three years into his career with the Chicago Bulls – and with his star profile on the rise – Michael Jordan rejoined his alma matter, the University of North Carolina, for an alumni game against UCLA. For the occasion, Jordan laced up in something a little special. With the Air Jordan 2 his current signature model at the time, MJ had a pair constructed that introduced some of the Tar Heels' signature blue into the staple white and black make-up – essentially spawning the first ever player-exclusive Air Jordan.
Formerly a one-of-one make-up that never hit shelves, this PE colourway is set to finally release to the public. Fusing Bulls and UNC colours, the shoe features the cornflour blue pull tab of the OG, but also adds special heel branding in place of the traditional Nike, with 'MJ' on the left and '6/28/87' – the date of the game – on the right.
An exact release date has yet to be announced for the Air Jordan 2 'Alumni', but you can expect these to drop sometime this June to coincide with the game's anniversary celebrations.
