UPDATE: This red suede Air Jordan 14 will drop tomorrow, September 6 at select Jordan Brand retailers and online at Nike.com. #redgoesfaster
When Michael Jordan loved a new shoe, you couldn’t keep it off his feet, irrespective of the release date the suits at Jordan Brand had planned. He went proper early with the Air Jordan 14s too, lacing them up in the 1998 Finals, well before its general drop the following year. It paid off. MJ put in amazing performances and scored with his last ever shot in a Bulls jersey to put the sword to the Utah Jazz in Game 6 and snare his sixth championship ring. The Ferrari-inspired design had him revving hard and moving super fast and this new red suede rendition may be even hotter than the black OG – ‘cos you know, red goes faster. The yellow Jumpman Ferrari steez badge connects with electric hits on the tongue and heel, while furry burgundy suede swamps the upper to forge a true necksnapper. The scaly upper grooves from the OG are gone and the midsole tech is turned up too, with some of that tough but flexible carbon fibre knocking about down below. We really wanna see these on our foot flesh for real to judge ‘em. Word is they will drop in the American fall, meaning like September or October, but nothing is confirmed, so stay tuned.
