UPDATE: It's been a while, but Jordan Brand have finally given us a date for these Jays. The 'Barons' AJ11 Lows, which pay tribute to Michael Jordan's foray into baseball, will be stepping up to the plate on May 27. You'll be able to grab them from select Nike accounts like Politics.
UPDATE: The release of the Air Jordan 11 Low 'Barons' isn't far off now! We don't have an exact release date yet, but Jordan Brand have announced that the baseball-inspired make-up will be hitting stores as part of their 2017 spring/summer line-up. For now, feast your eyes on this fresh set of images.
Michael Jordan may forever be known as the 'greatest of all time' when it comes to basketball, but his brief stint in minor league baseball doesn't quite hold the same acclaim. Making his debut with the Birmingham Barons in 1994, it didn't take long before the His Airness realised his talents were best spent on the hardwood. Despite lasting only a year on the diamond, Jordan Brand have been paying tribute to this short-lived career departure in recent years with a number of 'Barons' make-ups of classic Air Jordans.
The latest silhouette to step up to the plate is the Air Jordan 11, with a simple and white colour combination made all the more special by the injection of a metallic sheen into the patent leather mudguard. A definite career highlight from MJ's baseball odyssey.
Jordan Brand are yet to comment on a drop date for the Air Jordan 11 'Barons' at the time of writing, though rumours have these slated for an April release. We'll keep you posted.
