Regarded as one of the most sought-after contemporary Air Jordan 1s, the ‘Shattered Backboard’ has already spawned two successful reworks in the ‘Reverse Shattered Backboards’ from 2016 and the ‘Satin Shattered Backboards’ from this year. Now, it looks like another version of the heralded colourway is on the way, aptly labelled the ‘Shattered Backboard 3.0’.
While no official shots have surfaced, a leaked colour code featuring black, ‘Pale Vanilla’, and ‘Starfish’ all point towards another SBB make-up. Based off MJ’s orange and black uniform worn in a 1986 Italian exhibition game when he literally shattered the backboard while dunking, the OG sneaker is as revered for its supple leather construction as it is for its colours. Jordanheads will surely have their fingers crossed in hope of the same leather quality in the 3.0 version.
Release info is cloudy at this point, but rumours suggest a drop sometime in mid-2019.
