UPDATE: Official NDC photos show the 24kt detailing up close as well as a peak at the packaging the Pinnacle series will come in. The release date from Nike has been set for the 30th of May.
The Air Jordan 1 'Pinnacle' first appeared on our radar when it first debuted during the All-Star festivities in New York, and over the weekend fans finally got the first opportunity to purchase the sneaker during Jordan Brand's Flight 23 store opening in Las Vegas. Released in ultra limited quantities at the new retail space, Sneaker News managed to get ahold of a pair of the luxurious Air Jordans to take a closer look, and you can see from the gallery above that Nike pulled out all the stops to make sure this would be one of the most sought after Jordan releases ever despite its hefty $400US price tag. The upper is constructed with synthetic snakeskin, with 24kt gold plated accents including the eyelets, lace plate, tongue plate and lace tips. The most impressive part of the 'Pinnacle' is the gold Wings pendant replacing the usual embossing on the ankle, matching the gold medallions placed on the heel.
