Afew and New Balance Team Up for 1-of-1 Made in Hamburg 997
Made in USA and UK monikers are synonymous, but this 1-of-1 Made in Hamburg , the brainchild of and customiser Tornschuhjette, is in a league of its own.
The hand-formed ‘Craftsmanship’ 997 honours NB’s commitment to quality and attention to detail, and so the materials are as luxe as you’d expect, from vege tan goat hide, to nubuck, corduroy, and natural linen.
The smaller details also double-down on the theme; raw leather nameplates are stamped with a hammer and Afew’s logo, and the tongue is embroidered with ‘New Balance handcrafted’.
These will no doubt whip NB fanatics into a frenzy but, sorry, they’re not available for purchase. They will, however, be on display at the Afew x New Balance Craftsmanship Day in Dusseldorf on January 19.
