UPDATE: If you've been pining for adidas' revolutionary Futurecraft M.F.G., then we've got good news. The September 22 drop is being followed by an in-store release from Solebox, which will be going down on September 29. Mark the date and embrace the future.

UPDATE: The shroud of mystery surrounding the adidas Futurecraft MFG is lifting. We can now confirm that they'll be available to the public but only in Germany,  for a mere 249 €. We've been told the drop is set for September 22 so if you're not already Berlin bound it's time to get moving.

Today The Three Stripes have flipped the go-switch on their new SPEEDFACTORY in Germany which produces shoes almost entirely with robots. Now one step closer to the robot uprising, if they keep us pacified with a steady stream of the new MFG – who could complain?

The first shoe to come rumbling off the production line is the grail-worthy Futurecraft MFG (Made for Germany). Unlike its older sibling, this one features a sole with an ‘X’ shaped Torsion system embedded amongst the cushioning. The upper has been designed using ARMIS technology to create a form fitting upper, which you may recall as the innovation behind the . The minimal, woven upper is supported by a series of strips, which look like the embodiment of some heavy engineering.

Upon close inspection you’ll notice ‘001/500’ pressed onto the heel so chances are we’ll have to wait before we get to try them out for ourselves, but with the recent announcement of a stateside SPEEDFACTORY in the works it might not be too far off. We’ll keep you posted with any new updates moving forward.
