UPDATE: Our old mate @digitalemissions is back with another set of images, featuring the tantalising Ultra Boost Mid that he so thoughtfully shared with us late last year. Still no official info as to when the ankle-hugging Boost will be available to the public, we'll keep you posted.
Ending 2016 with one almighty bang, Ronnie Fieg and adidas collaborated to convert the Ultra Boost into a new mid-cut form. The ankle-hugging revision of the popular silhouette did away with the model's signature TPU cage and replaced it with a firm sock-fit bootie and welded structural support.
In 2017, the model is set to receive a wider release, albeit in slightly altered form. Dubbed the Ultra Boost ATR Mid, the new model features a foot-hugging unidirectional 3.0 Primeknit upper and detached tongue for the ultimate in snug comfort. In contrast with Fieg's creation, the ATR features embossed Three Stripes branding and a stitched layer of lace reinforcement. The sole on this creation is reportedly hardier than your standard Ultra Boost for an extra durable ride. Lastly, for that extra special touch, the shoe is fitted with reflective 3M laces.
The adidas Ultra Boost ATR Mid is yet to be officially announced, but @digitalemissions claims they will release in third quarter of 2017.
