Sometimes you just can't beat a classic. It may be the norm in the sports world to look forward to the cutting edge of innovation to improve performance, but skaters can't help but look back on the past to find that perfect shoe. For griptape legend Mark 'Gonz' Gonzales, adidas had come close to achieving just that in 1975 with the Nizza. A basic (and cheap!) court shoe, Gonz was rocking the Three Stripes silhouette in his '84 beanplantin' Thrasher magazine cover shoot. Still a massive fan of the Nizza some 20 years later, adidas Skateboarding have tapped into Gonz's love of the Niz' and given the design a thorough skate-ready revision to produce the brand new Matchcourt. The Matchourt features an enlarged durable rubber toe and extensive modern-day improvements to ramp up the durability, grip and comfort. The Matchcourt is available right now through adidas Skateboarding stockists in black, red and white colourways.
