Captured in Video Days by Blind Skateboards, Mark ‘Gonz’ Gonzales’ ollie down the now famous four-block at the Raoul Wallenberg High School back in 1991 has etched a place in skateboarding folklore. To commemorate that iconic moment, adidas Skateboarding have rebooted the Aloha Super, pulling inspiration from the San Francisco institution we’ve seen in so many video parts throughout the years.
Blessed with a blend of creamy suede and leather, the upper is elevated with salmon-hued Schmoofoil logo embroidery – an ode to sunset tones reflected in the historic ollie’s backdrop. Wallenberg’s contrasting black asphalt is symbolised by the bold colour-blocked Three Stripes, while the milky off-white midsole delivers a subtle divergence from the lighter tones up top.
First released in 2018, the Aloha Super model was created to honour Mark Gonzales’ contributions to adidas and skateboarding. At its core, the Aloha Super is inspired by the adiStar fencing shoe worn by Gonz during his famed 1998 performance piece at the Städtisches Museum in Germany.
The adidas Skateboarding Aloha Super ‘Wallenberg’ releases on November 2 via adidas Skateboarding, and at select retailers worldwide – stay tuned for a full store list.
