The materials adidas have used to construct the NMD silhouettes maximise comfort and gives the sneaker its signature lightweight finish, but sneakerheads who have tried to brave colder climates with the popular shoe can attest that the uppers don't necessarily protect your feet from the chill once temperatures start to dip. As a result, a new winterised version utilising a knitted wool upper will be released in September to better equip NMD fans for the winter period. Details are still scarce, but initial photos showcase this blacked out colourway with a contrasting Boost sole unit. With this new 'Winter Wool' variant in the horizon the NMD could truly become a four-seasons sneaker – now all we need is a waterproof version for the wet days and there'll be a NMD for every forecast!
The adidas NMD_R1 'Winter Wool' does not have a confirmed release date but is scheduled to drop in September, we'll keep you updated as more details surface.
