While wearable technology has only started to come into fruition in recent years, but over thirty years ago adidas was already at the forefront of wearable devices with their futuristic Micropacer running shoe. The Micropacer incorporated a 'mini-computer' that measured the wearer's distance ran, calories burned and average pace; it might pale in comparison to the current running counters we have in 2015, but back in 1984 it was a pretty big deal! The exorbitant pricetag kept it on the foot of yuppies around the world as a status symbol during the mid-'80s, the Micropacer has established itself as a notable trainer in the evolution of footwear, and continues to have a place in the adidas Originals line-up after all these years. This new offering is a nod to the popular Ultra Boost 'Solar Yellow' that came out earlier in the year, a celebration of the company's past and present and their never-ending endeavour to creating cutting edge performance footwear. The adidas Micropacer 'Solar Yellow' is available now on Hypebeast's HBX online store.
