The rumours were right! After more than a decade since it was first sampled, a clear-soled version of the Air Jordan 3 'White Cement' is finally hitting shelves. Official images have now emerged, along with a close-up look, courtesy of Instagram user @gc911.
The special make-up commemorates the 30th anniversary of the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest, which Michael Jordan would dominate with a gravity-defying dunk from the free-throw line in the Air Jordan 3 'White Cement.' This tribute release features OG Nike branding, as well as '147' stitched behind the tongues as a nod to the GOAT's score in the final round. Also, '3:51' is printed behind the heel tabs to immortalise the time of the legendary dunk. So, why a clear outsole? Flip the shoes over and you'll find a red stripe printed beneath the left shoe symbolise the free throw line.
The Air Jordan 3 'Dunk Contest' will release on February 14 through Nike's online store and select Jordan Brand stockists.
