The Y-3 GR.1P is Yohji Yamamoto's Latest with adidas
collaborative sub-brand with adidas, continues to deliver its signature style in the sneaker industry in 2021, now with its latest model: the Y-3 GR.1P. This year the brand's distinct flair was also brought Yohji Yamamototo the , where a minimalist avant-garde rendition was delivered, along with the , which enabled its wearers to embark on high-fashion hikes.
Looking at the GR.1P's upper, it looks to have drawn upon stylistic inspiration from other classic adidas silhouettes, which is then met with a Yamamoto touch – transcending it to more of a bespoke design. In terms of the shoe's build you'll find a smooth leather upper, canvas and leather lining and a rubber outsole, all quite minimalist features. Then you move down a little lower down, past the three stripes, to where you'll find its thick transparent EVA midsole, a rather striking detail which matches the enlarged branding found on the tongues.
