Vote For Your Favourite Air Max

Taking this year's Day celebrations to the next level, are looking to the future with their , inviting 12 creatives into the design process to produce some of the most unique Air Max models ever seen. The pool of creatives – dubbed RevolutionAirs – ranges from acclaimed designers and artists, to retailers and professional DJs. The results are diverse to say the least, and we now have a chance to view all 12 creations. More than just concept sketches, the designs are being put up for vote – with the winning entry set to become reality.
Kicking things off with one of the slickest entries, Russian designer Artemy Lebedev has produced a sleek reflective black , with zip-up shroud and blacked-out Air VaporMax sole unit. Crossing over to Amsterdam, fashion designer Clement Balavoine has placed importance on simplicity, uniting the and AM 97 with a clean black and white colourway. At the opposite end of the spectrum, London-based designer Alexandra Hackett has taken her love for all things Max to the extreme with a triple-Swoosh fusion of nine Air Max models, including the , AM97 and AM360. Also a fan of the AM97, Bünyamin Aydin, the founder and creative director of Les Benjamins, has converted the classic into a mid-cut silhouette, featuring a segmented sole unit and intricate 'artisanal' textures of his native Istanbul.

Venturing to Asia, Korean design duo Fabrikr have taken the concept of sealing shoes for preservation to the next level, wrapping the classic OG red and white AM1 in a layer of transparent material. Down in Tokyo, designer and founder of MAGIC STICK Naotaka Konno breathes new life into the Air Max 97 with a sock-like Flyknit upper and colouring inspired by the Tokyo club scene. China brings us two vastly different mid-cut designs. Shangguan Zhe, the creator of Shanghai fashion label Sankuanz, has produced a lace-less sock-fit boot featuring dragonfly-inspired graphics and an Air VaporMax sole unit. Favouring complexity, Beijing-based contemporary artist Chen Tianzhuo has produced a mid-cut shrouded boot with purple and lime green highlights, inspired by a range of sources, including bugs, ski boots and the .
Lastly, the Americas bring us four unique creations from four different fields. Sean Wotherspoon, co-owner of LA boutique Round Two, has fused the and for his design, rendered in a colourful palette inspired by his love of vintage Nike caps. Fellow Californian Kyle Ng, co-founder of Brain Dead, has taken the modern Air Max 1 Ultra Flyknit and treated it to a seemingly contrasting earthy colour scheme with a touch of DIY care of hand-painted spots. New York-based DJ Venus X looks to be in the running for tallest sneaker ever with her contribution – a fusion of the Air Max 97 and Air VaporMax featuring a zip-away vinyl sock. Finally, south of the border, Mexican contemporary artist Lourdes Villagomez has coloured up an AM1/AM90 hybrid with a bright colour palette inspired by Mexico's native Quetzal bird.
Sadly, only one of these designs will ever hit retail, but the choice is in your hands. Nike is putting the decision up for vote and the winning entry will be released in 2018. Voting kicks off March 17 through and you’ll have until March 25 to get your entry in. The winner will be announced on March 26.
