Vans Vault Celebrates Bodega’s 15th Anniversary with OG Style 36 LX

Boston-based retailer Bodega are celebrating their 15-year anniversary in style, linking with Vans for a special collaboration. Inspired by the DIY nature of custom designer goods, Bodega have reworked the OG Style 36 LX from the California skate stalwart’s premium Vault by Vans division, giving the Old Skool variant a touch of luxury.

Dressed in black and white, the sneaker is constructed in a premium mix of fabrics inspired by DIY luxury. Black tumbled leather joins buttery suede up top, while a classic white Jazz stripe plays off a super hairy brown suede counterpart on the inner foot. Contrasting white stitching, leather laces, and a single tortoise-shell eyelet on each eye-stay elevates the custom-designer-goods vibe, while the Bodega logo takes on a watermark-style look, tonally repeating itself across the ‘Marshmallow’ midsole. To round things out, the checkerboard leather tongue plays heavily into ‘a certain Parisian fashion house’, while staying true to Vans’ DNA.

‘The goal was to take a more timeless and elevated design approach while retaining the ethos that Bodega was built upon over the past 15 years, especially in relation to our partnership with Vans,’ says Matt Zaremba of Bodega.

The Bodega x Vans Vault OG Style 36 LX releases on April 2, exclusively in store at Bodega Boston and Bodega Los Angeles.
