Vans Is ‘Always Pushing’ in the Fresh AVE 2.0 Colourways
debuted their most advanced skate shoe ever back in March, the , and the SoCal skate legends are now gearing up to drop a fresh trio of colourways.
If you couldn’t already tell by its name, the AVE 2.0 is the latest signature model from 20-year Vans Skateboarding veteran and co-founder, Anthony Van Engelen (who’s nicknamed AVE). If you’re familiar with the partnership between Van Engelen and Vans, you may already know about the decades of skate innovation that’s seen the creation of the OG AVE, AVE Athletic, AVE Knit and now the AVE 2.0. The latter came correct earlier this year, boasting the most up-to-date tech that extends beyond a sleek skateable appearance and actually shows heightened performance on the board.
Vans don't shy away from boasting the innovation that’s included in their most advanced skate shoe, either. The upper boasts a stitchless design, with panels secured using their patented RapidWeld tech. Elsewhere, the heel counters are softer than ever before, with extra padded foam around the tongue and collar. Of course, the midsole houses the brand’s UltraCush, while the outsole holds a TPU support shank, signature UltimateWaffle and SickStick rubber.
For the March debut, AVE kitted his pro model in a knit-clad upper, but for the latest iterations, Vans has opted for a breathable mesh with crisp suede and rugged TPU additions. Three colourways have been crafted for the latest drop, one in ‘Medium Grey', another boasting ‘Bench Green’, and the final one in a two-tone ‘Lavender Fog/Black’. All three of which you can cop now, with the latter iteration an exclusive to select skate shops around the globe.
