Up Close: UNDERCOVER x sacai x Nike LDWaffle ‘Bright Citron’

Two of the world’s most coveted streetwear brands, sacai and UNDERCOVER have been routinely heating up our release calendars with some of the best colourways in the industry.For Chitose Abe’s sacai, it’s been all about the VaporWaffle in 2021, while Jun Takahashi has been busy remixing the Nike Dunk High and OverBreak. Now, the two labels are joining forces with Nike yet again for one of the more anticipated collaborations of 2021, three colourways of the LDWaffle set to arrive later this year.

Thanks to Instagram leaker hanzuying, we now have our first detailed look at the ‘Bright Citron’ colourway. Manufactured in nylon uppers with suede and leather overlays, the aesthetic is of course defined by Abe’s signature double-everything motif (the laces, tongues and thick padded midsoles all support double the fun).

Reviving one of the sneaker industry’s run-away successes of 2019, the LDWaffle is this time met with collaborative branding on the heels and insoles.

Look for the UNDERCOVER x Sacai x Nike LDWaffle ‘Bright Citron’ to release later this year.
