Up-Close Look: The Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Black/Blue
follow-up project to x will be two upcoming colourways of the underrated Low. Leaked pics have been filtering through at , and we've even got an up-close look at the white and red version. Now, its partner in crime, the Black/Blue has received detailed inspections from a number of the sneakersphere's most prolific leakers.
This colourway is done in black with purple/blue accents, with black and bright coral pairs of laces, and a yellow zip tie. MJ’s signature again features on this pair, but it’s done in silver (instead of black on the white/red pair) and placed on the lateral quarter. Adding to the luxe nature of the drop, the leather wears a faux snakeskin texture.
The second pair is a possible nod to the 'Varsity Red' colourway from 1986, and one of the versions features midsoles with an 'aged' aesthetic, and a cracked appearance. Michael Jordan's signature is printed on the lateral collar, while Virgil's signature plastic zip tie hits the laces. As expected, Helvetica text is stamped on the medial quarter, with two sets of 'SHOELACES' included in cream and black.
No official release details have been revealed, but all signs are pointing to a release on September 23 via Nike and select Jordan Brand stockists. It's the Air Jordan 2's 35th anniversary this year, so the drop is positioned as one of the sought-after celebratory sneakers of 2021.
