There’s a point in the sneakerhead’s journey that comfort becomes the key factor when determining daily rotations and new acquisitions. Cool new shoes may look attractive, but they’re not always comfortable. By relinquishing base desires like limited edition status or potential social media ‘likeage’, the sneakerhead attains zen and seeks soleful bliss once they unplug and eschew laces. At the end of this journey is the Nike Offline in formless ‘Triple Black’.

Mules are no longer the butt of sneakerhead jabs; instead the backless slip-on shoe is now the incumbent default choice for new-age shoe enthusiasts. Guided simply by drop-in insoles for customisable cushioning, the foot is enveloped within gently padded nylon uppers and a broad midfoot Velcro strap for unrestricted adjustment. There’s a very small eject symbol printed on the heel pull tab, though it may be in vain – little chance these are coming off anytime soon.

In the very likely event the Offline ventures outside into the streets, Nike accommodate for this scenario with relatively beefy outsoles and tall midsole foxing to tackle most hard surfaces. Just don’t run after the bus wearing them…

To escape the matrix of the sneaker cycle, slide into a pair of Offlines today from retailers such as Afew.
