Update July 14, 2022: The second batch of Union x Nike Cortez colabs have received an official release date! Dubbed the 'Un-Cortez,' the co-created sneakers will release in their 'Smoke Grey' and 'Lemon Frost' colourways on July 21. Read the original article below for more info on the colab!

After a successful first release at the tail end of June, Union and Nike are set to run it back with two fresh colourways of their co-created Cortez. Though an official debut date for the second dynamic duo has yet to be announced, official images of both pairs have surfaced – indicating that they may be touching down soon!

Both pairs scream summertime in Los Angeles, one with a tan, yellow, perriwinkle and red colour scheme and the other by way of a grey, pink, yellow and light blue palette. Both pairs' key details are provided by baja hoodie-style striped detailing on the textile base, which is supported by supple suede overlays. Besides the bright and bold colour schemes, what makes the Union x Nike Cortez collection compelling is its blend of old and new – and that's not even mentioning the City of Angels' longstanding cultural connection to the model!

Shape-wise, these pairs' trim build and toe/heel bumpers are much closer to the 1972 original than the more puffy leather iterations that have found favour in recent decades, and they even retails a flip-up heel tab that serves as a clever landing pad for double branding. The shape of the midsole is classic as well, but it's also modernized with sustainable Nike Grind construction. Last but not least, there's special branding on the inside of the tongue, the cork insoles and the lateral forefoot, plus a custom shoebox.

As mentioned above, a release date for these colourful Union x Nike Cortez is still forthcoming. However, we'll be sure to update you as soon as one is made available. Expect to shell out $130 for a pair when they do drop.
