Under Armour Patents Sneaker that Measures Blood Pressure
The sketch shows a sneaker – which, oddly, looks like a Swooshless Dunk – built with pressure detectors that speak to a Fitbit-style device. Apparently the shoe will use a ‘force actuating mechanism’ to stimulate the plantar venous plexus, which is a series of large veins in the arch of your foot.
There’s no word of when the sneaker will release, but the patent was filed in July 2016, so there’s every chance that prototypes are already up and running. In the meantime, check out Under Armour’s latest on-court weapon here.
