Una Farrar’s Dime x Vans Mixxa Is Built as a Daily Driver
Skater Una Farrar is known for her signature style and epic skate films with Vans, which has helped propel her to the forefront of the Canadian skate scene. Now, she’s set to receive her very own sneaker, partnering with Montreal natives to remix the Mixxa. Farrar built this crisp iteration to be a daily driver, but it still comes correct with the latest Vans tech.
‘I wanted the colorway of the Mixxa to be quiet and clean so anybody can wear it,’ said Farrar in a press release. ‘Black and gum is subtle and classic. It is a huge honor to see my name on a shoe and share it with brands I'm inspired and aligned with. I like the nostalgic silhouettes of the early 2000s, so the Mixxa was a perfect fit. I added a little extra luck on the side with the clover’.
Despite being a classic black/gum combo, there are plenty of details incorporated by the trio. The collar and midfoot boast a wavy, warped variation of the iconic checkerboard print, and extra branding details come through on the lateral forefoot with a clover, an ode to Farrar’s Irish roots, and Dime’s logo on the rear. In terms of tech, Vans have souped up this sneak with reinforced T-toe overlays and DURACAP rubber underlays for durability, while SickStick rubber provides heightened grip.
You can catch the Una Farrar x Dime x Vans Mixxa through Dime's channels on September 21. A wider drop has been scheduled for September 26 through select Vans stockists.
