Fledgling Italian boutique Special Sneaker Club have only been in operation for just over two years, but they’ve already been able to achieve the enviable distinction of having a sneaker collaboration. In fact, they’ve got two new colourways with compatriot company Diadora and their N9000 retro runner.

Dubbed the ‘Tri Scagn’ and ‘Porta Ticinese’, these two same-same-but-different grey, white, black and red colourways delve into the rich tapestry of the Special Sneaker Club’s home base of Porta Ticinese, a neighbourhood in Milan. Both editions feature a three-legged stool that’s been part of Porta Ticinese’s coat of arms since the 12th century, and is displayed proudly on the rear heel embroidery.

Speaking of the coat of arms, it’s inspired the colourway of not only these N9000s, but Secret Sneaker Club’s brand language too. Clearly respecting their roots, and that of Diadora’s N9000, which has been extending its 30th anniversary celebrations well into 2021, a classic combination of leather, suede and mesh has been used here. However, one edition spices it up a bit further with a subtle red pony hair heel panel. And, it’s all made in Italy.

Raffle entries for the Special Sneaker Club x Diadora N9000 ‘Tri Scagn’ and ‘Porta Ticinese’ open on June 2 directly from Special Sneaker Club.
