Two American Pioneers Bring East and West Together
Footwear icons from the East and West coasts, and Danner, are uniting for an American Pioneers collection. A and Danner’s Mountain Light come coloured in rustic brown as a nod to the Portland Penny.
Why the penny? Well, it was the coin that was flipped to decide Portland, Oregon's name. The city's founders — Francis Pettygrove from Portland, Maine, and Asa Lovejoy from Boston — both wanted to name the city after their hometowns. They turned to the trusty coin flip to make the call, and Pettygrove obviously won. The odd tale unites New Balance’s and Danner’s homes in history, and the new colab draws them even closer.
