Houston, We Have Heat: Tom Sachs Teases the Nike Mars Yard 4.0

and are blasting into orbit once again. The long-awaited is officially on the radar for a September 2025 release, marking the latest chapter in a saga that’s become one of the most collectible in Nike’s collaborative cosmos.
At first glance, the 3.0 looks like a classic Mars Yard with a few cosmic tweaks. That familiar mesh-and-suede build is back in the game, dressed in cream tones with maple suede overlays and the signature red Swoosh. But take a closer look and you’ll spot the upgrades: a black TPU toe guard, heel clip for extra structure, and staggered eyelets that mix form and function.
Underfoot, Sachs swaps out the old tooling for Nike’s React foam, delivering a cushier ride without compromising stability.
There’s also a carbon fibre plate baked into the sole for propulsion, making this one of the most technically advanced Mars Yard models yet. You’ll find natural rubber outsoles and interchangeable insoles – mesh or cork – both scrawled with Sachs’ signature scribbles and diagrams.
In a recent deep-dive video, Sachs revisits the conceptual core of the series, calling NikeCraft ‘for everyone else’ – not for hoopers, not for runners, but for the curious, the committed, and the offbeat explorers. And right at the tail end of the clip, he confirms it: the Mars Yard 4.0 is already in early development.
No details yet, but the rocket is clearly still on the launchpad. Stay tuned for more on the Mars Yard program as the countdown continues.
