The Air Jordan 5 ‘Tokyo’ was released by in 2011 to celebrate the opening of Jordan Tokyo 23 in Japan. The ‘Tokyo’ 5s broke necks with their yellow suede upper and the classic AJ5 3M tongue, while the traditional ‘23’ embroidery on the lateral side was replaced with Japanese characters, highlighting Japan’s Shibuya Ward. The model's unique detailing, combined with its limitation to Japan-based accounts, meant collectors were scrambling to secure their pairs.
