Throughout sneaker history, few silhouettes have been reimagined as many times as the iconic . We’re used to seeing the familiar leather uppers remixed with fresh details and materials, but for the latest ‘Pixel’ rendition, Nike are levelling-up the classic sole with a glitchy new look.
No doubt inspired by the world of video games, the Air Force 1 Pixel is a digi-delight, packed with a stylish, modern aesthetic highlighted with quirky tooling. The leather uppers keep things pretty clean, coming through in a low-cut construction with the standard side Swoosh and panel arrangement. The enlarged heel section features blocky ‘AF’ branding, which is also mirrored on the tongue, while the insoles are printed with a ‘Nike’ logo delivered with the same styling. Additionally, the lace dubraes also adopt the theme, arriving in a single rectangular piece. Last but not least, the midsole is re-tooled with a glitched-out, haphazard look, with Tetris-esque textures and an uneven arrangement. Wild!
