The latest wave of water resistant Nike Air Force 1 GORE-TEX releases is much more reserved compared to their boldly coloured counterparts from the first drop in 2019. Predominately black and brown editions have already been seen, but the next colourway opens up the palette with lighter shades – perhaps the most classic rendition of the AF-1 GTX yet.

Like all Air Force 1 GORE-TEX releases so far, the upper panels alternate between leather and tightly woven ballistic nylon. Here, everything is rendered in tonal shades of pale beige, likely what Nike call ‘Sail’. Even the lateral heel counter GORE-TEX embroidery blends in for a subtle flex.

Beneath the surface lies the namesake tech. The waterproof yet breathable GORE-TEX membrane lines the inside of the upper, providing a physical barrier against external moisture. To further augment its shower-stopping capabilities, the sides of the tongue are actually sewn to the eyestays, forming a gusset to keep water out.

Underfoot, the all-rubber soles are by nature waterproof, and contain a full-length encapsulated Air sole inside. But best yet, and the only contrast on this entire shoe, is the gum rubber outsole. Two thumbs (and big toes) up for that decision.

There’s no hard launch details on these just yet, but appreciate the official Nike shots for the time being and well keep you updated.
