This DTLR x New Balance 992 Celebrates Varsity Sport
are continuing their relationship with Boston-based to create another iteration of the , this time celebrating the United States’ love for college sports. Dubbed ‘Varsity’, it’s already been locked in to release on Labor Day weekend!
The DTLR x New Balance 992 has been decked out in the familiar grey colour scheme that’s a fan-favourite of many NB heads. The usually muted combo has been highlighted by pops of blue and red throughout, most likely representing the US flag. Subtle hints of yellow have come through on the tongue and heel, which sees the usual USA branding in red. It also looks like this release will see extra yellow and grey laces, a nice touch. Rounding out the ‘Varsity’ feel is the USA flag on the tongue that bears the 992 logo where the stars usually are.
This isn’t DTLR’s first 992 rodeo, they’ve had a close relationship with New Balance for many years now, and most recently the duo celebrated their Washington DC homeland with a creation dubbed ‘Discover and Celebrate’. For that release, they drew inspiration from the DMV area and its surrounds.
