The ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2 ‘OG’ Is Classic Nike Running
Earlier this year, revealed the newest addition to their legendary performance running stable, the 2, and now they’re taking to the new model with a familiar colour scheme.
The ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2 ‘OG’ throws back to the beginning of the Swoosh’s Breaking2 project, tapping into the blue and red combo that graced the Vaporfly Elite created with the view to breaking the elusive 2-hour marathon barrier. While the Vaporfly wasn’t the shoe to break the record – that honour goes to the ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% worn by Eliud Kipchoge when he achieved the superhuman feat in October 2019 – its debut colourway has remained a go-to for Nike Running. This latest iteration sees an icy blue Atomknit upper jazzed up with a searing red on the forefoot and midsole.
Tech-wise, it represents the best of Nike’s running innovation: a light and breathable upper, a full-length carbon plate for extra propulsion, and rubber-enforced outsole for durability. It’s enough to make even the casual pavement-pounder run like the wind.
