The Whitaker Group Employ NB998 and NB990v4 to Revisit ‘Wilful Bias’

The Whitaker Group and all of its many arms have had an eventful 2025, from the to multiple We’ve only just passed the halfway point of the year, and the James Whitner-led outfit isn’t pumping the brakes just yet. The entire group has come together to revisit their ‘Wilful Bias’, this time for education – and will employ the and to execute their vision.

This two-pack will follow 2024’s collection of 1906Us, which introduced The Whitaker Group’s ‘Wilful Bias’ concept. An extension of its namesake term (which refers to the deliberate choice to favour one thing over another), 'Wilful Bias' promotes the company's mission of elevating Black culture through art, fashion and storytelling. This time around, the presented pair of sneaks has been given the name ‘Wilful Bias for Education’, and they're part of TWG’s ongoing ‘Unwritten Curriculum’ series.

''Wilful Bias For Education' is a reminder that some of life’s most important lessons happen far beyond the classroom,' the Group said in their announcement, which revealed that the NB996 and NB998 will be a accompanied by a short film, shot at a college campus, that will further the 'Wilful Bias' story.

Each of the NB998 and NB990v4 models come dressed in all-over rich jade tones, an obvious ode to their Both the models stay true to their OG construction, donning mesh base layers and suede top layers in premium Made in USA construction.

You can expect The Whitaker Group x New Balance 998 and 990v4 to release via a raffle that begins today, July 29 and ends on August 4 via JAIDE, Social Status, A Ma Maniere and APB. There will then be a drop via JAIDE’s channels on August 7 before an August 8 launch again through all TWG’s locations.
