The Shoe Surgeon Crafts Custom Louis Vuitton Air Jordan 1 Inspired by Virgil Abloh-Designed Air Force 1
Last month, Sotheby's auctioned 200 pairs of Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1s designed by the late Virgil Abloh, with proceeds going to the Virgil Abloh ‘Post-Modern’ Scholarship Fund. As that event generated over $25 million in sales, the fund saw a big financial boost. Now, The Shoe Surgeon is doing his part by selling a limited number of Air Jordan 1s inspired by the LV collaboration, and a portion of proceeds will again go towards Abloh’s fund.
Like the official AF-1s, these AJ1s feature both of LV’s instantly recognisable Damier and monogram patterned leathers, which TSS has sourced from authentic bags. There is a high-cut version, which predominately uses the brown monogram material on the majority of its upper, with the lighter Damier used on the Swooshes and toe box. While the low version features the opposite. There are some signature Off-White x Nike touches, namely the “AIR” printed on the midsole, plus text branding on the medial side. TSS does add his own touch with gold foil branding and a custom cut orange swing tag, in reference to the recent release.
The Shoe Surgeon LV AJ1 is available to order now from their website and is priced at $10,000 each pair. Again, a portion of proceeds will be going to the Virgil Abloh ‘Post-Modern’ Scholarship Fund.
